5. Tas Anyaman Jerami

Untuk membersihkan debu di sela-sela anyaman jerami, gunakan penyedot debu kecil (yang biasa digunakan untuk membersihkan sofa). Agar tampak mengilap, bisa gunakan cairan pembersih untuk sepatu kets. Caranya, gunakan lap bersih untuk mengulaskannya. Lalu, keringkan dengan cara digantung di tempat teduh. Hindari menjemur tas jerami di bawah sinar matahari langsung karena bisa mengerut.

Excess Internet Use Trigger Adolescent Depression

SINCE early, parents insisted to introduce the internet on children. But beware, because of excessive internet use linked to depression in adolescents.

Teens who log in (internet access) at least five hours a day have a 1 to 1.5 times greater risk for depression than teens who use the Internet in moderation. Similarly, based on studies in China that was launched from the NY Daily Legal News, Wednesday (04/08/2010).

Young people who spend too much time to surf the web grow restless when not in front of the screen and the declining interest in social interaction, according to co-author Lawrence Lam studies from the School of Medicine, University of Notre Dame, Sydney.

"Some (teens) spent more than 10 hours a day, they are really heavy users who show symptoms and signs of addictive behavior ... browse the internet, struggling with the games," said Lam.

"They can not stop thinking about the Internet, they feel uneasy if not returned after a break from the internet," he added.

Lam further said the teenager heavy internet users also do not want to spend time with family, do not want to hang out with friends, and not interested to attend family events.

The study involved 1041 adolescents aged 13-18 in Guangzhou, China which did not experience depression at the beginning of the study. When assessed nine months later, 84 adolescents diagnosed with depression. They are excessive Internet usage. The researchers concluded that teens who are most vulnerable to depression are excessive Internet users. The study itself has been published in the Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

"The (study) suggests that young people initially free of mental health problems but using the Internet excessively, develop depression as a consequence," Lam wrote.

Why surf the internet causing grief? Could be due to lack of activity turned a blind eye (sleep).

"People who spend so much time on the internet will lose sleep and this is a very proven fact that the more one's lack of sleep, the higher the chances are depressed," said Lam.

Pemakaian Internet Berlebih Picu Depresi Remaja

SEJAK dini, orangtua bersikeras untuk memperkenalkan internet pada anak. Tapi waspadalah, karena penggunaan internet berlebihan terkait dengan depresi pada remaja.

Remaja yang log in (mengakses internet) sedikitnya lima jam sehari memiliki risiko 1-1,5 kali lebih besar untuk depresi dibandingkan remaja yang menggunakan internet dalam jumlah sedang. Demikian berdasarkan penelitian di China yang dilansir okezone dari NY Daily News, Rabu (4/8/2010).

Kaum muda yang menghabiskan waktu berlebihan untuk surfing web tumbuh gelisah ketika tidak berada di depan layar dan menurun minat untuk berinteraksi sosial, menurut co-author Lawrence Lam studi dari School of Medicine University of Notre Dame, Sydney.

"Sebagian (remaja) menghabiskan lebih dari 10 jam sehari, mereka benar-benar pengguna berat yang menunjukkan gejala dan tanda-tanda perilaku adiktif ... browsing internet, berkutat dengan games," kata Lam.

"Mereka tidak bisa berhenti memikirkan internet, mereka merasa gelisah jika tidak kembali usai rehat dari internet," tambahnya.

Lebih lanjut Lam mengatakan, remaja pengguna berat internet juga tidak ingin menghabiskan waktunya bersama keluarga, tidak ingin bergaul dengan teman-teman, dan tidak tertarik untuk menghadiri acara keluarga.

Penelitian ini melibatkan 1.041 remaja berusia 13-18 di Guangzhou, China yang tidak mengalami depresi di awal penelitian. Ketika dinilai sembilan bulan kemudian, 84 remaja dinyatakan menderita depresi. Mereka adalah penggunaan internet berlebihan. Para peneliti menyimpulkan, remaja yang paling rentan terhadap depresi adalah pengguna internet berlebihan. Penelitian sendiri telah dipublikasikan di Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine.

"Hasil (penelitian) menyarankan bahwa orang-orang muda yang pada awalnya bebas dari masalah kesehatan mental tetapi menggunakan internet secara berlebihan, mengembangkan depresi sebagai konsekuensinya, " tulis Lam.

Mengapa berselancar di internet menyebabkan kesedihan? Bisa jadi akibat kurangnya aktivitas menutup mata (tidur).

"Orang-orang yang menghabiskan begitu banyak waktu di internet akan kehilangan waktu tidur dan ini adalah fakta yang sangat teruji bahwa semakin seseorang kurang tidur, maka semakin tinggi kemungkinannya mengalami depresi," kata Lam.

Pengaruh sinyal ponsel terhadap kesehatan sudah sering diperdebatkan. Kali ini, muncul penelitian mengenai pengaruh penggunaan ponsel pada ibu hamil terhadap perilaku anaknya kelak.

Menurut penelitian baru yang diterbitkan di Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, bayi di dalam kandungan bisa berisiko mengembangkan masalah perilaku jika Anda memperlakukan ponsel dengan cara yang tidak tepat. Contohnya, menyimpan ponsel di saku atau dekat dengan perut Anda yang membuncit. Pasalnya, bayi di dalam kandungan yang terpapar sinyal ponsel 30 persen lebih mungkin mengalami kesulitan berperilaku hingga usia 7 tahun.

Masalah perilaku pada anak umumnya diklasifikasikan dalam kelainan psikososial, kelainan kebiasaan, kelainan kegelisahan, dan perilaku yang mengganggu. Kelainan psikososial antara lain berkenaan dengan emosi, agresivitas, yang bisa mengganggu relasinya dengan teman-temannya di sekolah. Kelainan kebiasaan misalnya menggigit kuku, menarik-narik rambut, mengisap jempol, gagap, dan lain sebagainya. Kelainan kegelisahan cukup mengganggu karena anak bisa mengalami kelainan obsesif kompulsif, fobia sosial, depresi, atau kelainan lain yang disebabkan situasi tertentu. Adapun perilaku yang mengganggu antara lain perilaku tantrum akibat kemarahan atau frustrasi dan attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Salah satu penasihat pemerintah di Inggris untuk bidang dampak radiasi ponsel, Profesor Lawrie Challis, mengatakan bahwa anak-anak seharusnya tidak menggunakan ponsel paling tidak sampai umur 12 tahun. Namun kenyataannya, lebih dari separuh anak di bawah 10 tahun ternyata memiliki ponsel.

Penemuan ini mendukung penelitian sebelumnya, yang menguji data dari 13.000 anak dan ternyata menghasilkan penemuan serupa. Meskipun demikian, David Coggon, profesor bidang occupational and environmental medicine di University of Southampton, mengatakan bahwa yang perlu disalahkan bukan ponselnya.

"Pola dari hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan masalah perilaku itu mungkin disebabkan oleh faktor-faktor lain, dan bukannya penggunaan ponsel," katanya.
